8 days to go

...little more than a week from now, I will be gone; A 1970 Moto Guzzi 750 Ambassador will be my navigator, travel companion and sometimes my soulmate out on the open road.

I have scheduled the following:
5 questions to ask of 49 people with 245 possible answers over 15,000 miles of backroads at 40-45 miles per gallon and sipping some 400 cups of coffee with my other hand on the gas nozzle to fill the tank right up to the top as I am pondering how many 12.3 megapixel photos to shoot on each day to add up to probably 10,000 by the end of the journey which will enhance the one thousand or so words I will type each night before I lay me down to sleep.

You see, I will be totally dedicated to this one cause for the next three months on the road for freedom.

Correction: I will take every Sunday off from the tour to do some radical, sometimes strange event such as fishing in some clear, mountain stream or talk with elders of a Native American Tribe so I may obtain a better understanding of their loss of freedom and how they are coping with the modernization, due to the people who have come here long ago to take over land and all rights associated with ownership.

There is a burning in my heart to visit the Lakota of Pine Ridge, South Dakota to see for myself the population which has the highest suicide rate among teens, the highest percent of adults with diabetes and the poorest living conditions in the USA.

Their median income is $2600.00/year.

If my abacus is working properly, that is roughly $50/week.

My cell phone bill is over $65/ week!

I an humbled before I even get there. The shock factor will more than likely make a change in me like nothing before in my life. "Ken, brace yourself!"

Mozi on...
