January 4th, 2010 and I will blog everyday from now on. So much to write about and so few days.
The original purpose of this blog was a cross country motorcycle trip. It will mainly be about the trip and adventures to experience, although there are other aspects of my life and the people I have had the pleasure to meet over the years that also shared with all of you.
I am currently reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Great book!
I have embarked on a solo cross-country trip on a vintage motorcycle "Mozi" to research, discuss and discover what Americans think and believe about Freedom. Follow me as I travel through the 48 connected states to meet and talk with average Americans about our freedom as a nation as well as individual Freedom. Email me with places of interest which has everything to do with Freedom: solofreedomride@gmail.com

First blog
Welcome to my Blogsite.
My name is Ken Mickler. I live off the coast of Massachusetts on Martha's Vineyard Island.
The idea behind this blog is to share my plans, pictures and events along my travels across the USA on my 1970 Moto Guzzi 750 Ambassador motorcycle.
This trip is still in it's planning stages and is scheduled to begin by the end of the summer of 2010.
I am not looking forward to a solo trip. If you are interested in sharing the roads from Maine to Florida, via all of the 48 lower states and D.C., please let me know. The trip could take anywhere from 49 days to 100 days. The route I have currently planned is 7,300 miles.
I cannot share the details of this trip yet, as it has to be presented to several potential sponsors and budgets adjusted depending on the real purpose of the roadtrip.
Stay tuned to follow how the plan is coming together.
