...After picking up a rusty nail and a twisted piece of metal with my rear tire, I made a phone call to Offshore Cycles. Panhead Mike answered and as soon as I expressed my desperation, frustration of the situation, Mike was on his way with trailer in tow to pick me, Mozi and all of my roadside misery up and before I knew it was possible, a vintage Italian motorcycle that is very dear to me was perched on a motorcycle stand in an air conditioned shop space and the rear tire was being removed. Soon to be replaced with a new, metric racing tire which just happened to be in stock.
Mike worked and I watched. We both talked and laughed and shared a couple of bottles. (Gatorade).
I am now sitting in a really cool bistro on a back street of Oak Bluffs enjoying a Daquiri which is like heaven to me. My nerves are never frazzled and this is no exception. My tastebuds are being pateint as the chef prepares a dish of Lobster Mac & Cheese.
Life is good!

I have embarked on a solo cross-country trip on a vintage motorcycle "Mozi" to research, discuss and discover what Americans think and believe about Freedom. Follow me as I travel through the 48 connected states to meet and talk with average Americans about our freedom as a nation as well as individual Freedom. Ken,
ReplyDeleteThe Freedom Ride is a National Ride event that takes places in May on Armed Forces Day. This ride takes place in most of the 50 states. Each state plans their own event. Nevada's ride takes us to Hawthorne, NV to ride in their Armed Forces Day Parade and it comes equipped with a 3 day party. May 15th, 2010 was the first annual ride. These rides are open to anyone who supports our troops and our freedom.
So, I would need to ask you what your route through Nevada is. I live in Northern Nevada up near Reno on interstate 80. If you are traveling through Las Vegas, you would be in the southern part of the state. About 1/2 of my riders come up from Las Vegas and the other 1/2 are from up north. We would need your time-line as quickly as possible. I do not have any problem promoting your event. My connections include the Patriot Guard Riders, The American Legion Riders, and several patched clubs in this state. I also have connections within the National Freedom Ride in the States of Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, New York, Arizona, and California.
So, with that being said, Do you have a planned route? Are you raising money or making a statement?
Regards,
Ruthie
