Subject: Biscuits & Gravy
Today, I had the pleasure of eating breakfast out. OK, I had a bowl of Cheerios at home and then headed off to work on Martha's Vineyard Island. Once on the island, I stopped in at a favorite breakfast restaurant called "Biscuits". Chris and Celeste are always hard at work, keeping customers' coffee cups filled and assorted dished flying out of the kitchen in record time.
I love walking into a place such as this and being greeted at the door with a hello and a cup of coffee is soon to follow. Either Wayne or Chris will peak into the kitchen and tell Celeste "Ken's here". She immediately prepares my all-time favorite morning staple, biscuits & gravy!
No need to even offer me a menu, for this is a given. Ken likes B&G!!!
I do pace myself on this southern-bred, almost like mom's, makes me miss home, should be the official breakfast of anyone needing a warm blanket of deliciousness wrapped around their tongue, so early in the morning.
What will I do when I leave this place and rack up hundreds of miles each day this summer and fall? Where will I find a meal to even come close to this hidden treasure?
To Celeste, Chris and Wayne...my hat's off to you.
