Fitness and health before and during a long ride

Yeah, I am concerned about health and fitness on the road and it all starts long before raising the kickstand. I am estimating my trip will start in 2-3 months, so I have been working out daily in a very unorganized manner. Today, I set up my BowFlex in my garage with a spare 25" TV connected to a vcr/dvd player. No cable. No connection to junk and commercials to feed my brain with distraction. Just as a rider must focus on the road, I am very focused on working out daily and getting in shape before packing my bags and heading out.

I am curious if other riders take time each day to stretch and work out to keep fit and eliminate cramping on the road.

I could easily pack a jump-rope for some vigorous excersize before starting up each day. Of course, a swim in the lovely hotel pool around 6am would do the trick!
